Nominations form

Members are invited to put themselves forward for election to Liberty’s Policy Council, the forum that helps shape our policy and campaigns.

The deadline for nominations is 5pm on Friday 31 January 2025.

Your application must include a personal statement of no more than 200 words, which will be included in the election materials exactly as submitted. Nominations must comply with the Election Rules and Procedures.

At the 2022 AGM, Liberty members voted to enshrine the organisation’s longstanding values in our constitution. Candidates for Policy Council must therefore read and agree to abide by these values as per the Election Rules and Procedures or else forfeit their eligibility for council:

"Liberty is an anti-racist, disability-positive, trans affirming organisation. We do not tolerate discrimination on any grounds, including class, economic status, religious belief, nationality, immigration status, sexual orientation, gender identity, race, colour, ethnicity, age and disability. We recognise that discrimination can be direct or indirect and does not require intent. We take the side of the most marginalised, defend minoritised groups, challenge oppressive practices and fight for substantive equality."

Proposers and seconders must be members of Liberty. Liberty will contact your proposer and seconder to confirm your nomination. Please let them know that we will be in touch and provide their contact details.

If you are unable to find a proposer and/or seconder, please leave these sections blank and we will try to match you with two other members. Please note that we are unable to guarantee this.

If you would also like to add your name to the pool of proposers and seconders, please fill in this form.
