OUR IMPACT.

In 2020, Liberty client Ed Bridges won the world’s first case against police use of facial recognition. The Court said South Wales Police had violated privacy rights and breached data protection and equality laws.

In 2020, we launched our investigations unit Liberty Investigates to expose hidden injustices and help us push for change to make the UK fairer for everyone.

In 2017, Liberty client John Walker won his five-year legal battle to secure equal pension benefits for his husband in a landmark case that could change the lives of thousands of couples across the UK.

In 2008, after 15 months of Liberty’s award-winning Charge or Release campaign and a resounding Lords defeat, the Government’s 42 day pre-charge detention proposals were dropped.
